Ontur, Southern Spain - Accommodation

Most pilots stay on the airfield in the purpose built bungalows. These are small individual units suitable for up to three adults and are now air-conditioned. There are ensuite facilities and fully equipped kitchenette with three single beds. Bedding is provided but you will need to bring your own towels. They have one of the best views in town over the beautiful plain towards the south west. The cost is 18 Euro per person per night.

In the nearby town of Fuente Alamo there is a small modern hotel charging about 32 Euro per room. Hostal Restaurante Encarna has very pleasant modern rooms with television and en suite bathrooms. If you would like to stay here we would be pleased to make a booking on your behalf. Fuente Alamo also has a few typical restaurants.

The best hotel in the region is at the Cenajo Dam . This is among the mountains to the south west and so provides quite a different setting to the arid area around Ontur. It is 40 minutes from the airfield, but quite worth the drive if you are accompanied by a family interested in kayaking, swimming, biking and walking in the beautiful surroundings here. The hotel has excellent facilities with a large restaurant, bar, two outdoor pools, indoor heated pool, squash court, gym, saunas, pool table and bikes and kayaks for the use of guests. The cost is about 50 Euro for a double room.

Camping is possible on the airfield with toilets and showers and barbeque area.

All accommodation can be booked through the European Soaring Club.
